How to Begin Painting Plein Air -Steve Kennedy

Steve will talk about painting en plein air and demonstrate techniques which are helpful when painting outdoors.

Steve Kennedy has been painting in ‘plein air’ on Cape Cod since 1981.  He calls his style “painterly realism,” since he works in a representational yet loose manner.  A Paier College of Art graduate and year-round Cape resident, Kennedy’s work has won numerous awards and is in many public and private collections, including the permanent collection of Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cahoon Museum of American Art, Highland House Museum, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, Albany Institute of History and Art and Seamen’s Bank.  He is currently represented by Addison Art Gallery, Orleans, MA, Kiley Court Gallery, Provincetown, MA; Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet, MA, and the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, CT.  He teaches at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham and the Council on Aging in Provincetown, and is a member of the North Shore Arts Association, Gloucester, MA.
