Instructor Bio-

Karen Pinard has been seriously painting since moving to Cape Cod in 2005. Her medium of choice is works on paper that include watercolor and mono-types although many of her floral studies and abstracts are done with water mixable oils.

Karen achieved an Associate Masters in Ikebana studying in Japan for five years. She is an avid gardener with a small landscape consulting firm, Art of the Garden.

“My artwork is inspired by the unending beauty of nature and my experience with floral and landscape design.

Working with water media on beautiful paper is an intriguing medium with unpredictable experience and there is freshness to the process which is perfect for landscapes and botanical interpretations.

Between the fine lines of abstraction, impression, and representation lies great possibilities to express what is unique and perhaps elicit an emotional response or memory.”
