Bring Impact To Your Images through Composition with Ron Wilson

Session 2: 11:00am – 11:45am

   Session  4: 3:00pm – 3:45pm

“This recognition, in real life, of a rhythm of surfaces, lines and values is for me the essence of photography; composition should be a constant preoccupation, being a simultaneous coalition – an organic coordination of visual elements.” Henri Cartier Bresson

Composition is the glue that holds it all together and brings order to an image. I will discuss the elements that make up the language of photography and how to create effective compositions, using my own images as  examples.

Bio:

Ron has nearly 30 years experience photographing Cape Cod and beyond. A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art with a degree in painting, his interest in photography began when he picked up a 35mm camera in 1980. That was soon replaced by a larger format 4×5 view camera. From the beginning he maintained his own color darkroom where he produced exhibition quality Cibachrome prints. Today a digital camera and digital darkroom have replaced the film camera and wet darkroom. His gallery and studio are located in Plymouth, MA. His work appears regularly in the pages of Cape Cod Life magazine.
